Henkel and Capgemini automate product carbon footprints for 50,000 products
sustainabilitymag.comHenkel Consumer Brands and Capgemini have launched HCB HEART, a digital tool that automates product carbon footprint calculations across more than 50,000 products. The platform covers laundry, home care, and hair care lines, and breaks down emissions by raw materials, packaging, production, logistics, and individual components. It replaces manual, fragmented PCF work and gives product teams a consistent data foundation for eco-design and R&D decisions. A key addition is multi-component product logic, which calculates several finished goods as one product for complex items that combine packaging and accessories. The platform went live in 2026 after more than a year of development and an external audit of the HEART environment across both Henkel divisions. The company says the data will also support Digital Product Passports and Eco Beauty Score frameworks.
