The heat exchanger upgrade and electrical capacity investment is where the real cost was. Would be useful to know the payback period on that. Industrial electrification is capital heavy upfront.

The article says 100% renewable electricity but doesn't specify source. If it's grid RECs, that's less impressive than a PPA. Still, the electrification of heat is the hard part and they did it.

Good point. Scope 2 accounting can get fuzzy. But eliminating Scope 1 by ditching furnace oil and natural gas is real. That's the part that actually matters for the local air and climate.
