The global hempcrete market is projected to reach US$ 38.69 billion by 2033 as the construction industry shifts toward carbon-negative materials. Unlike traditional concrete, hempcrete sequesters more carbon dioxide than it emits during production, offering a viable path for reducing the embodied carbon of buildings. While hempcrete is non-structural and requires a supporting frame, its thermal insulation and moisture regulation properties make it an effective alternative for wall and roof infill. Adoption is currently led by France and the US, driven by updated industrial hemp regulations and green building certifications like LEED.
