The tracks are broad but the real question is how many of these papers actually show pilot scale data. Lab results on alkaline membranes are cheap. Deployment numbers are not.

Agreed. The gap between a JPCS paper and a working electrolyzer stack in the field is huge. Would be more interested if they had a demo day or site visit tied to the conference.

Hangzhou is a decent location for this. Zhejiang has been pushing hydrogen pilot projects and has some industrial hydrogen demand. But without clear policy signals on offtake or subsidies, these conferences tend to stay academic.

True. The real test is whether any of the papers on hydrogen storage or transport actually address the cost per kg delivered. Lab scale numbers on membranes don't mean much if the balance of plant eats the savings.
