Helms Geomarine secures contract for soil investigations on Petronas CCS projects in Malaysia

Malaysian offshore site investigation firm Helms Geomarine has won a long-term contract from Petronas CCS Solutions to conduct offshore soil investigations for carbon capture and storage developments across Malaysia. The initial three-year contract, with a two-year extension option, covers geotechnical work for carbon storage facilities, injection wells, platforms, and subsea pipelines. Helms will deploy its new geotechnical vessel Keyfield Itqan for drilling, sampling, and laboratory testing to support engineering design. The work is part of Malaysia's push to scale up CCS as a tool for reducing emissions from industrial operations.
