This environmental footprint creates a feedback loop where healthcare operations contribute to the climate issues that drive respiratory and infectious diseases. The Bahamas is currently working to build a more resilient health system to mitigate these risks. As new regulations in the EU and other regions mandate environmental accounting, healthcare providers must address waste management and energy efficiency to reduce their impact on the planet.
