Hanwha TotalEnergies is testing a new carbon capture pilot facility specifically for naphtha cracking center processes, capturing roughly 20 tons of CO2 per day. This marks a shift from traditional hydrogen-focused capture to broader petrochemical applications, with the captured carbon being used for polyurethane adhesives. The company also secured ISCC PLUS certification for several synthetic resin products by using pyrolysis oil from waste plastics. Additionally, they are evaluating the construction of dedicated plants for sustainable aviation fuel and other biofuels to reduce transport emissions.
