Hanwha Power and Pembina Pipeline Corporation have signed a memorandum of understanding to develop low-carbon power generation at North American compressor stations. The project focuses on waste heat recovery (WHR) using supercritical carbon dioxide as a working fluid to generate electricity from industrial waste heat without additional fuel. This collaboration aims to improve asset efficiency and reduce carbon emissions across Pembina's gas infrastructure. The companies will conduct technical and economic feasibility studies to identify pilot sites for the compact, water-free power systems.
