Hanshow Nebular Lux ESL Cuts Retail Shelf Energy Use by 46% With Indoor Light Harvesting
prnewswire.comHanshow introduced the Nebular Lux electronic shelf label at NRF 2026 in Paris. The label uses ambient indoor light harvesting to supplement battery power. Hanshow says a representative retail deployment can cut daily energy consumption by about 46% compared with conventional electronic shelf labels. Across one million labels, the company estimates the design avoids roughly 202 metric tons of CO2 over 10 years from battery production and replacement. The product uses a hybrid energy architecture and Hanshow's fifth-generation HiLPC communication protocol. That extra energy budget supports more frequent positioning, LED signalling, and location-based store services without shortening label lifespan. Hanshow is showing the Nebular Lux at Hall 6, Booth E-020, alongside its Store Digital Twin portfolio and the NexMate robotics system. The energy and CO2 figures are vendor estimates from a representative scenario, not third-party verified results. Actual savings will depend on store lighting, label density, and how often the wireless network wakes each label.
