Hanoi creates inter-agency carbon market group to coordinate emissions data and credit projects
vietnamnet.vnHanoi has established an inter-agency working group to prepare for participation in Vietnam's carbon market. The group will coordinate greenhouse gas inventories, emissions reduction plans, and the development of carbon credit projects across the city. Key tasks include identifying facilities that must report emissions, managing data from energy, construction, transport, and waste, and setting rules for credit ownership and revenue sharing. Hanoi's agriculture and environment department will lead inventory data, while industry, construction, finance, science and technology, and health departments each take on specific responsibilities. The city plans to focus on sectors like waste treatment, methane recovery, low-emission agriculture, urban greenery, public transport, and energy savings in buildings. The finance department will also handle revenues from credit transfers and benefits from projects on public land and state-owned infrastructure.
