Hang Lung Properties Achieves 100% Renewable Electricity Across Mainland China Portfolio by October 2026
asianews.networkHang Lung Properties announced that all 11 of its operating properties in nine Chinese mainland cities will be fully powered by renewable electricity by October 1, 2026. The portfolio, spanning 2.65 million square meters, will procure approximately 440,655 MWh of renewable electricity annually, avoiding an estimated 227,513 tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions. The company procures both the power and its green attributes under China's green power policy framework, covering landlord operations and tenant usage alike. This milestone follows a five-year transition starting in Kunming in 2021, with each property rolling onto renewable electricity as market conditions allowed. Hang Lung's whole-building approach means tenants, including luxury brands and multinationals, can count the electricity they use as renewable without additional procurement effort. The company targets 100% renewable electricity across all operations globally by 2050.
