Durham University spinout H2CHP has raised £1.5 million to develop next-generation distributed electric generators. The technology is designed to run on hydrogen, ammonia, biofuels, and e-fuels, providing a low-carbon power alternative for data centers, ports, and microgrids. The funding comes from Innovate UK, Blackfinch Ventures, and the North East Spinout Inspire Fund. By utilizing fuel-flexible systems, H2CHP aims to reduce carbon emissions and improve energy reliability in sectors where grid connection is challenging.
