H2CHP Secures £1.5M for Low-Carbon Data Center Generators
datacenterdynamics.comDurham University spinout H2CHP has raised £1.5 million to develop free-piston linear generators for data centers and energy-intensive sites. The technology is designed to be fuel-flexible, capable of running on hydrogen, ammonia, biofuels, and e-fuels to reduce emissions and improve power resilience. This latest funding round brings the company's total capital to £3.5 million, with support from Innovate UK and private venture firms. The project aims to provide a low-carbon alternative to traditional diesel backup generators in microgrids and critical infrastructure.
