Gwangmyeong City is moving its green building initiatives from public projects to the private sector to accelerate carbon neutrality. The strategy focuses on Zero Energy Building (ZEB) certifications and green remodeling to reduce urban carbon emissions. The city has established a Green Building Support Center and implemented Building Energy Management Systems (BEMS) across 19 public sites. This data driven approach allows the city to track real time energy use and emissions to inform its Third Green Building Development Plan for 2027 to 2031.
