GS Global is taking a stake in Hooxi Partners, a South Korean carbon credit specialist, to build a larger carbon trading business. Hooxi develops emission reduction methodologies, manages projects, and secures Korean Offset Credits (KOCs), with a focus on transportation and EV transitions. GS Global plans to combine that expertise with its own electric bus, solar, biomass, and recycling operations to generate credits and sell them at home and abroad. The timing lines up with the start of Korea's fourth emissions trading scheme (KETS4) in 2026, which brings tighter caps and more paid allocations. That raises the cost of compliance and makes carbon credit supply more valuable. Hooxi's revenue jumped from 200 million won in 2024 to 3.2 billion won in 2025, with projections for continued growth, so the deal gives GS Global exposure to a fast-moving segment of the carbon market.
