Graphyte, a startup backed by Breakthrough Energy Ventures, is planning a carbon storage facility in Valemount, British Columbia. The company uses a process called carbon casting, where organic wood waste is dehydrated, compressed into bricks, and buried underground to prevent decomposition and carbon release. The project aims to create local jobs and generate carbon credits for corporate buyers.
