South Kesteven District Council has finished a £4 million energy project at Grantham Meres Leisure Centre. The upgrade replaces fossil fuel boilers and a combined heat and power unit with a Net Zero Pod featuring air source heat pump technology and 574 solar panels. The project is expected to reduce annual carbon emissions by over 550 tonnes and cut yearly energy bills by £170,000. Funding was provided through the Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme and a grant from Sport England.
