GORD, Global Carbon Council, and Ras Al Khaimah EPDA partner to advance carbon markets and climate action in the Gulf

The Gulf Organization for Research and Development (GORD), the Global Carbon Council (GCC), and Ras Al Khaimah's Environment Protection and Development Authority (EPDA) signed a strategic partnership to push carbon markets and sustainable urban development in the region. The MoU combines GORD's research expertise, GCC's carbon crediting framework, and EPDA's regulatory oversight to build greenhouse gas inventories, verification systems, and carbon neutrality frameworks. The partnership focuses on implementing Article 6 of the Paris Agreement, which allows countries and organizations to trade carbon credits across borders. It also aims to develop technical guidelines for sustainable buildings and climate-resilient infrastructure. The deal includes professional training programs and joint research to strengthen regional climate expertise and connect environmental governance with global carbon market standards.
