Golden Dragon and Ebusco have finished building the first Ebusco 3.0 carbon fiber articulated electric bus at Golden Dragon's Longhai plant in China. The 18-meter battery-electric bus is designed for the European market and uses a carbon fiber body that Ebusco says reduces weight by about 30 percent, improving energy efficiency and driving range. The companies signed a strategic cooperation agreement in Xiamen on July 7, 2026, to deepen their partnership beyond this initial production run. Ebusco provides design and market access in Europe while Golden Dragon handles manufacturing and quality control. Suppliers Gotion High-tech and Zhongfu Membranes & Water Technology are also involved. The partnership dates back to 2012 and now aims to scale up production of zero-emission buses for European transit operators. The first completed bus marks a concrete step in shifting from prototypes to volume manufacturing of lightweight electric buses.

The article doesnt specify charging specs. But EU procurement rules for zero emission buses are tightening. This partnership seems timed to meet those requirements. Carbon fiber helps with total cost of ownership if battery life holds up.
