Gold Standard is finally swapping out the old registry for something that actually talks to other systems. API-first is the right move if they want these credits to move across borders without a manual nightmare.
The tech is fine, but the real test is how this handles Article 6. Interoperability is useless if the underlying accounting rules between national registries still clash.
Q4 2026 is a long way off. A lot can change in the voluntary market before this actually goes live. I wonder if the migration of existing holdings will actually be as seamless as they claim.
Trovio has a track record with the Australian government, so they likely know how to handle the migration. The main thing is whether this actually lowers the friction for project developers.
