Gold Standard is finally updating its registry tech with Trovio. It is about time. The old systems in the VCM are often clunky and slow down the actual delivery of credits.
Tech upgrades are fine, but the real issue is whether this helps with Article 6 alignment. A faster database does not automatically fix the underlying accounting hurdles between national and voluntary registries.
Interesting move. I wonder if this will actually lower the administrative costs for project developers or if the fees just stay the same while the backend gets faster.
Registry revamps usually sound great in press releases. Does anyone know the actual migration timeline? Moving massive amounts of legacy credit data without errors is a huge operational risk.
