Global CCS Institute 2026 report maps 190+ carbon capture technologies as CCS sector grows
carbonherald.comThe Global CCS Institute released its State of the Art: CCS Technologies 2026 compendium, cataloging over 190 carbon capture solutions from more than 90 companies. The report tracks how the sector is moving from planning to deployment ahead of 2030, with amine solvent systems still dominant but adsorbents, membranes, and hybrid systems gaining ground. The compendium also covers improvements in storage technologies like site characterization and monitoring tools that help developers meet technical and regulatory requirements. The Ravenna CCS project in Italy is featured on the cover, signaling Europe's growing role in large-scale storage infrastructure. For project developers and policymakers, this report provides a practical snapshot of which capture technologies are commercially available across different industrial sectors and CO2 concentrations. The institute will discuss findings in a July 23 webinar.
