The Global Carbon Council signed a partnership with CGS International Holdings and Verdana HK Limited during the Asia Climate Summit 2026 in Hong Kong. The deal creates a dedicated carbon register and independent carbon finance platform for GCC-approved projects in China and Hong Kong. The goal is to improve access to project finance, connect institutional buyers with high-integrity carbon credits, and support Article 6.2 of the Paris Agreement. The platform will initially serve voluntary carbon markets but is built to support future interoperability with Article 6 and other international mechanisms. GCC provides the carbon standard and governance, while CGS International brings fundraising and investor outreach. Verdana HK will operate the Hong Kong Carbon Register and Services Body. The partnership aims to make carbon finance more predictable and transparent for project developers in Asia.
