The Global Carbon Council (GCC) and CIFOR-ICRAF have signed a memorandum of understanding to integrate scientific research with carbon crediting. The partnership aims to create high-integrity nature-based solutions and improve baseline methodologies for carbon projects, specifically in the MENA region. This collaboration addresses a massive funding gap in nature-positive finance. By combining technical carbon standards with forestry expertise, the organizations intend to provide more transparent and scientifically grounded pathways for public and private investment in natural capital.
