EDF will supply 5.4 GWh of renewable electricity to three Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games venues, including Scotstoun Stadium and Tollcross International Swimming Centre. The zero-carbon tariff draws from EDF's Scottish renewable sources and covers the 11-day event and beyond. This is part of Glasgow's push for a lower-carbon Games model, with the energy equivalent to powering about 2,000 UK homes for a year. The partnership also includes spectator engagement on energy savings and demand flexibility. EDF CEO Simone Rossi highlighted that switching to electric transport and heating can save households money, while off-peak usage via EDF flex offers eases grid pressure. The deal shows how existing venues can leverage green tariffs for major events without new infrastructure.
