Gibraltar's OTwo Active Challenge wrapped up with 926 participants walking, running, hiking and cycling a combined 84,501km over one month. Organizers estimate the effort avoided more than 14 tonnes of carbon dioxide, based on distances logged through Strava and manual entries. Winners were recognized in cycling and run, walk and hike categories, with clubs and local organizations also competing. Since the campaign began, the two Active Travel Month events have covered 172,501km with an estimated combined saving of 29.33 tonnes of CO2. The challenge is part of a broader push by Gibraltar's Department of the Environment, Heritage and Climate Change to make active travel a more routine part of daily life. Fundraising also raised £1,850 each for Diabetes Gibraltar and the Gibraltar Cardiac Association.
