Ghana and Malawi Partner to Expand Carbon Market Frameworks
modernghana.comGhana and Malawi are collaborating to strengthen carbon market engagement under Article 6 of the Paris Agreement. Ghana has established a national carbon registry and a dedicated market office to manage the transfer of carbon credits and support low-carbon development. With approximately 70 pipeline projects ready for implementation, Ghana expects to monetize 400 million tons of CO2 by 2030. The partnership focuses on sharing institutional arrangements, legal frameworks, and benefit-sharing models to attract international climate finance.
