Ghana and Malawi are collaborating to develop carbon market systems and regulatory frameworks. The partnership focuses on knowledge exchange regarding Measurement, Reporting, and Verification (MRV) systems and the operationalization of Article 6 of the Paris Agreement. Ghana has already established a National Carbon Registry and a dedicated Carbon Market Office. The country has authorized the transfer of one million carbon credits and used REDD+ initiatives to conserve over 50,000 hectares of forest.
