Ghana and GIZ Launch Sustainable Energy Action Plan for Public Institutions
techreviewafrica.comThe Energy Commission of Ghana and GIZ have introduced the Public Facility Sustainable Energy Action Plan (PF-SEAP). This initiative focuses on installing rooftop solar, LED lighting, and efficient cooling systems across government buildings to lower carbon emissions and reduce energy waste. With a projected investment of GH₵10 million, the program expects to generate GH₵29 million in benefits through lower electricity costs and reduced maintenance. The effort is supported by a new technical committee to ensure accountability and coordinate the rollout across public sectors.
