The Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) has partnered with the India Smart Grid Forum (ISGF) to expand the Asia Low Carbon Buildings Transition project. The initiative focuses on reducing emissions in India through technical tools and institutional planning, with active implementations in Kerala, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh. Project milestones include a registry of over 1,600 buildings and the assessment of 300 sites using the Building Emission Assessment Tool. The next phase targets 60 buildings for specific cooling retrofits to improve energy efficiency and lower carbon footprints.

Basically, GGGI is trying to move from pilot phases to actual scale in India. They have trained a few thousand people and mapped some buildings. Now they are bringing in ISGF to handle the communications and get more stakeholders on board.
