Gevo has sold nearly all of its 2026 Section 45Z tax credits for $70 million, with more than $30 million already received in cash and the balance expected over the next six months. The largest sale, $50 million, went to a non-financial publicly traded company. Quill Financial bought the remaining $20 million. Section 45Z is a performance-based credit tied to carbon intensity, so the revenue is directly linked to low-carbon fuel production from Gevo's ethanol, carbon capture, and renewable natural gas operations. Gevo also forecasts $7 million to $10 million in 2027 credits after debottlenecking at its North Dakota site, which is expected to increase capacity and carbon capture by 10-15%.
