Gevo has sold substantially all of its 2026 Section 45Z tax credits for $70 million. The credits came from its ethanol and renewable natural gas facilities. Gevo received more than $30 million in cash through September 30, with the rest expected over the next six months. A $50 million portion was sold on September 30 to a non-financial, publicly traded company. Quill Financial bought $20 million earlier. The company is also forecasting more than $77 million in 2027 credits. That includes an expected $7 to $10 million from debottlenecking at its North Dakota site, which should lift production capacity and carbon capture by 10 to 15%. Work there is scheduled to finish by the end of 2026. The sales show how 45Z transferability is bringing tax credit revenue to clean fuel producers, including buyers outside the finance sector.
