Gentari has completed a 3.1 MWp solar PV installation at KLIA2's gateway@klia2 retail and lifestyle complex in Malaysia. The system uses over 5,200 panels on rooftops and car park structures, expected to generate about 4,277 MWh of clean energy annually and cut carbon emissions by roughly 3,310 metric tons of CO2 equivalent per year. The project supports Malaysia's National Energy Transition Roadmap and adds 12 EV charging points at the airport. The solar array was delivered under a power purchase agreement with Segi Astana, a joint venture between WCT Holdings and Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad. Gentari handled the installation in an active airport environment, including solar car park shades that provide covered parking. The electricity will power the gateway@klia2 retail and lifestyle complex, with the goal of stabilizing energy costs and improving operational resilience as passenger traffic grows ahead of Visit Malaysia Year 2026.
