The recall affects specific Generac and DR Power models where a malfunctioning start/stop button can cause the unit to self-start, creating a dangerous risk of carbon monoxide poisoning in confined spaces. Owners are advised to stop using the affected units immediately and contact Generac for a free repair. As a temporary safety measure, users can remove the battery and use the manual pull-start option to operate the machine safely.
