The Global Cement and Concrete Association (GCCA) and the Global CCS Institute have signed a memorandum of understanding to accelerate the deployment of carbon capture and storage (CCS) worldwide. This partnership focuses on sharing technical expertise and advocating for policy changes to make CCS a viable reality for cement producers. As a sector with hard to abate emissions, the cement industry requires scaled CCS technology to meet net zero targets. The two organizations will establish a high level roundtable to coordinate investment and create the regulatory conditions necessary for large scale project execution.
