Bengaluru startup GalaxEye has launched the Mission Drishti satellite via a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket. This is the first satellite to combine electro-optical and synthetic aperture radar sensors, allowing for high-quality Earth observation regardless of weather or lighting conditions. The technology provides critical data for agriculture, disaster management, and defense. By merging these two sensing methods, the satellite overcomes the limitations of traditional imaging, offering more reliable monitoring of environmental changes and land use.
