Fusion Fuel's joint venture, BioSteam Energy, has started commercial operations at a dairy facility in South Africa. The project replaces fossil fuel steam generation with biomass, aiming to reduce carbon emissions and generate revenue through fuel switching and landfill avoidance. The initiative is expected to bring in approximately $0.7 million in annual revenue. It marks Fusion Fuel's first operational entry into Southern Africa and creates a pathway for generating carbon credits by diverting organic waste from landfills.
