Fugro wins contract to support UK carbon capture infrastructure for Northern Endurance Partnership
megaproject.comFugro has been awarded a contract by Saipem to provide marine survey and inspection services for the Northern Endurance Partnership (NEP), the UK's first CO2 transportation and storage project. The NEP is a joint venture between bp, Equinor, and TotalEnergies, aiming to store up to one billion tonnes of CO2 beneath the North Sea. This infrastructure will help decarbonize carbon-intensive industrial regions in the UK while supporting ongoing industrial activity and energy security. Fugro will handle nearshore and offshore surveys, installation monitoring, and verification along the pipeline route, including at third-party crossings. The project is a key milestone for UK carbon capture and storage, with Saipem leading engineering, procurement, construction, and installation. The work reduces installation risk and supports efficient delivery of the UK's first major CCS infrastructure.
