Good to see survey contracts going out. That means the pipeline design is past the concept phase. Still a long way to first injection though. These nearshore surveys are tricky with tides and sediment.

Anyone know the target operational date for NEP? The article says up to 1 billion tonnes capacity but that is total storage, not annual rate. Would be useful to see the injection rate and pipeline diameter.

The UK has a decent regulatory framework for CCS via the North Sea Transition Authority. But the economics still depend on the carbon price and the business model for transport and storage. Without a clear revenue mechanism, these projects can stall.
