Fugro wins contract for UK carbon capture pipeline surveys on Northern Endurance Partnership
infrastructure-now.co.ukFugro has been awarded a contract by Saipem to provide marine survey and inspection services for the Northern Endurance Partnership, the UK's first major CO2 transport and storage project. The project is a joint venture between bp, Equinor, and TotalEnergies and aims to store up to one billion tonnes of CO2 under the North Sea. Fugro will handle nearshore and offshore surveys along the pipeline route, from landfall to existing infrastructure, to support safe installation and reduce risk during construction. This is a concrete step for UK carbon capture infrastructure. The Northern Endurance Partnership is designed to serve industrial clusters and help decarbonize heavy industry. Fugro's role in providing consistent Geo-data from source to seabed is meant to lower installation risk for Saipem, which is leading the offshore pipeline work. The project is one of the first major CO2 transport and storage systems in the UK and will be watched closely for how it handles technical complexity and delivery timelines.
