The group says it will now concentrate on 10 to 15 high-conviction technologies with gigaton-scale potential, shifting from a broad portfolio to deeper, longer-term contracts. Frontier's head, Hannah Bebbington Valori, stressed that every new deal must have a clear path to government-driven demand once corporate contracts expire. The move nearly doubles Frontier's total pledged spending and signals continued corporate interest in carbon removal as part of climate strategy. However, the group acknowledges that government policy, not just corporate buying, will be essential to reach billion-ton-per-year removal levels. The announcement also highlights a narrowing of focus toward methods like direct air capture and enhanced weathering that show the most promise for scale.
