France based company Carbon has ended its four year effort to establish a photovoltaic manufacturing presence in Europe. The company cited a lack of sustainable market conditions and the absence of a supportive framework for European solar industrial sovereignty as the primary reasons for the closure. This move highlights the ongoing struggle for European solar manufacturers to compete against global imports. Despite goals for energy transition and industrial autonomy, the project could not find a viable path to commercial sustainability.
