Fortera has signed a multi-year agreement with Meta to supply environmental attribute certificates tied to about 200,000 tons of its low-carbon cement. The deal gives Fortera long-term revenue visibility to support financing for new production facilities, including its plant in Ste. Genevieve, Missouri. That plant produces ReAct Cement using captured CO2 and reports 70% lower emissions than ordinary Portland cement, with third-party testing and ASTM compliance. The agreement also highlights a broader shift in procurement. Meta has the option to use the cement in its own projects, and the deal comes as U.S. cement consumption relies on imports for about 21% of supply. Multi-year purchases like this can help move low-carbon materials from pilot scale to full production, which matters for construction emissions and supply chain resilience.
