Formula One recorded a 35% drop in its carbon footprint last year compared to 2018 levels, according to its 2025 annual review. The organization cut emissions 12% from 2024 and reduced travel emissions 27% since 2018 by using sustainable aviation fuel and remote broadcast operations. Nearly 80,000 tonnes of CO2 have been removed from operations since the baseline year. Formula One plans to remove over 50% of broadcast and related freight from air transport by 2030. CEO Stefano Domenicali credited calendar rationalization and investment in sustainable fuels for the progress. The sport aims for net zero by 2030 while continuing to grow its global schedule of 22 Grands Prix.
