Formula 1 Reports 35% Carbon Cut, Net Zero 2030 Target On Track

Formula 1 has announced a 35% reduction in its carbon footprint compared to 2018 levels, according to its latest Impact Report. The sport has cut nearly 80,000 tonnes of CO2 equivalent from operations including freight, logistics, broadcast, and race events. Travel emissions dropped by over 21,000 tCO2e, while factory and facility emissions fell by more than 37,000 tCO2e. The key operational shift involves moving freight from air to sea transport, with over half of broadcast freight planned to leave air transport by 2030. The sport also invested in sustainable aviation and maritime fuel in 2025. The challenge remains whether a 24-race global calendar can sustain these cuts while growing the championship.
