More materials for data centers usually means more power demand. I wonder if they are accounting for the actual grid capacity in these regions or just building for the hype.
The real question is whether these new materials meet the latest low-carbon procurement standards. If they want the subsidies, the carbon footprint of the production process matters more than the end use.
Flame retardants are a huge deal for data center safety, but I want to see the actual cost per unit. High value materials are great until the payback period for the facility operator becomes unrealistic.
