The International Chamber of Commerce and Carbon Measures have named former Colombian President Iván Duque as Chair of the new Technical Expert Panel Advisory Group on Carbon Accounting. The group will support the TEP's work on developing a globally consistent product-level carbon accounting framework by broadening engagement with policymakers, business leaders, and practitioners.

Good to see the TEP getting a named chair. Product-level carbon accounting is one of those things that sounds boring but decides whether offsets and embodied emissions claims actually line up. Duque's government experience may help bring policymakers in, but the real test is whether the framework stays usable for small producers, not just multinationals.
