Forensic audits clear Battersea Power Station project of overvaluation claims, says Malaysian PM Anwar
thestar.com.myMalaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim told parliament that independent forensic audits by Evelyn Partners cleared the Battersea Power Station redevelopment in London of overvaluation allegations. The audits found the claims made by a former executive were unfounded and that the project's accounting complied with international standards. The project involves investments from Malaysia's EPF and PNB pension funds. The audits were conducted after concerns were raised about financial reporting and the fair value of investments held by the Malaysian funds. Auditor PwC also certified the accounts. Anwar stated no adjustments were made to the investment valuation for the 2025 financial year. The project's performance will continue to be monitored under standard governance practices. The Battersea redevelopment is a major mixed-use project on the site of a decommissioned coal-fired power station, representing a large-scale low-carbon redevelopment and urban regeneration effort. The audit outcome provides clarity on the financial health of this significant cross-border investment tied to Malaysian state funds.
