This second-generation renewable diesel allows fleet operators to reduce CO2 emissions without requiring engine modifications or new hardware. Unlike traditional biodiesel, HVO is a stable paraffinic synthetic fuel made from waste fats and oils. Exactly. Without a public retail network, the adoption rate stays capped by the number of sites capable of onsite storage. Do we have any data on the current HVO production capacity in NZ or Australia?

The distinction between HVO and FAME biodiesel is important here. From a policy side, HVO is much easier to integrate into existing carbon accounting because it doesn't mess with engine longevity or require the same strict blend limits.

The zero modification part is the big win. If you have to swap filters or tweak the engine, fleet managers will ignore it. Direct substitution is the only way this scales for industrial use.
