Focus Graphite hits 98.7% carbon concentrate from Lac Knife ore using only mechanical processing, starts customer qualification
media-outreach.comFocus Graphite completed an eight-tonne pilot run at SGS Canada, processing Lac Knife ore into roughly 850 kg of graphite concentrate grading up to 98.7% carbon. The company achieved this using only mechanical concentration methods, without chemical or thermal purification. The pilot feed had an average head grade of 18.9% total carbon, confirming the naturally high-grade character of the deposit. Focus is now shipping that qualification-scale material to partners including C4V and Forge Nano for testing in battery anode materials, high-purity graphite, and specialty graphite products. The goal is to support customer evaluation, product validation, and potential offtake agreements across unmanned systems, defence, energy storage, and industrial markets. The results reinforce Lac Knife as a potential upstream source for North American graphite supply chains, particularly for lithium-ion batteries and other energy storage applications tied to grid decarbonization and electrification.
