New Forest Water Park has submitted plans to install around 200 floating solar panels on its northernmost wakeboarding lake. The panels would replace an existing floating wavebreaker and be anchored with chains and bungees, using concrete anchors already in the water. The site has no roof space or spare land, so the business says floating solar is the only way to generate enough on-site renewable power. Park director Ben Jury says the project is meant to cut the business's carbon footprint and move it toward net zero. The array would be moveable if needed and would connect to existing electrical infrastructure in the garage. No decision date has been set by New Forest District Council.
